SPECIAL COLLECTION: Many thanks to all who contributed to last week’s Peter’s Pence collection.  £240.99 was collected at St. Matthew’s.  This will be forwarded to help the Vatican offices and support Vatican charities throughout the world.

 

ST SOPHIA’S GALSTON: A warm welcome to our sisters and brothers in St. Sophia’s, Galston.  Let’s pray that, as we make this new stage in our journey of faith, we might work closely together with Jesus at our side. 

 

SEA SUNDAY: TODAY Sunday 9th July we will remember in prayer all who work on the seas.

 

LAY-LED FUNERAL LITURGIES:  The Church has made provision in its Funeral Liturgies for Lay-led Services to be conducted.  With a view to preparing for the day when this will happen in our area, Fr. Willie McFadden will lead a training course for those who are thinking of joining this ministry.  If you are also interested, please speak to Fr. Martin

JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR: Loudoun Musical Society are performing this much acclaimed and rarely performed musical in the Palace Theatre 26th till 30th September. If a group of ten wish to go to the performance on the same night a block booking with a 10% discount can be arranged. Normal ticket price is £17

EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS: Would all Eucharistic Ministers who are willing and able to help take Communion to the Sick and Housebound make themselves known to Fr. Martin.  Suitable training will be put in place.

 

POPE’S MISSION INTENTION FOR JULY:  We pray that, through OUR prayer and witness to the Gospel, all brothers and sisters of good will may rediscover the merciful closeness of the Lord and beauty of the Christian life.

 

VIDES UK: Is a Youth Charity run by the Salesian Sisters who will come to Kilmarnock from 7th -10th August running a Summer Activity Week for young people in the mornings (for P5-7) and evenings (for S1-3) each day of that week.  The activities will take place in St. Matthew’s Hall but are open to all young people from the whole area.  Any young person interested should see Fr. Martin for a Registration Form.

 

The 15 volunteers leading the programme will be staying in St. Matthew’s House that week.  Since there is no outright cost to the Parish, parishioners will be asked to volunteer either to make dinner for the volunteers or to donate towards the cost of their breakfast or lunch. The lead volunteers will come to St. Matthew’s & Mount Carmel on 23rd July to make final arrangements.

WEDDINGS: Any couple wishing to be married in Mount Carmel or St. Matthew’s in the coming years should speak to Fr. Martin as soon as possible.
