LAY-LED FUNERAL LITURGIES:  The Church has made provision in its Funeral Liturgies for Lay-led Services to be conducted.  With a view to preparing for the day when this will happen in our area, Fr. Willie McFadden will lead a training course for those who are thinking of joining this ministry.  If you are also interested, please speak to Fr. Martin

FR. MARTIN CYCLE: Fr. Martin says: “It poured rain for the first half of the 80 miles and then just became dull.  It was hard towards the end as I just had to keep as comfortable as possible.  The good thing was the wind was more or less at our back.  Thanks to all who have supported us and, through this cycle, supported the Ecuador Trust.”   If anyone has sponsorship, please hand it in to the Sacristy.

EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS: Would all Eucharistic Ministers who are willing and able to help take Communion to the Sick and Housebound make themselves known to Fr. Martin.  Suitable training will be put in place.

VIDES UK: Is a Youth Charity run by the Salesian Sisters who will come to Kilmarnock from 7th -10th August running a Summer Activity Week for young people in the mornings (for P5-7) and evenings (for S1-3) each day of that week.  The activities will take place in St. Matthew’s Hall but are open to all young people from the whole area.  Any young person interested should see Fr. Martin for a Registration Form.

The 15 volunteers leading the programme will be staying in St. Matthew’s House that week.  Since there is no outright cost to the Parish, parishioners will be asked to volunteer either to make dinner for the volunteers or to donate towards the cost of their breakfast or lunch. The lead volunteers will come to St. Matthew’s & Mount Carmel on 23rd July to make final arrangements.

MISSION APPEAL: On the 12th/13th August there will be a missionary appeal by the Missionary Sisters of Africa.  The second collection that day will be for that charity.  You are invited to be as generous as you can.

WEDDINGS: Any couple wishing to be married in Mount Carmel or St. Matthew’s in the coming years should speak to Fr. Martin as soon as possible.
