JOINT PARISH SOCIAL DAY: Parishioners of Mount Carmel, St. Matthew’s and St. Sophia’s are invited to this Joint Social Day Sunday 3rd September beginning at 2pm.  There will be games at St. Matthew’s, a Treasure Hunt around Kay Park and eats back at the Church.  Originally it was intended to have the event at the Dean park but it is out of commission during their renovations.  Please come along and join in the fun!

 

NATIONAL PILGRIMAGE: To Carfin Grotto TODAY Sunday, 3rd September with Mass at 3pm …. to consecrate Scotland to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

SPECIAL COLLECTION: There will be a 2nd Collection at mass on the 16th/17th September for the ‘Diocesan Retired Priests Fund’.  If anyone wishes to Gift Aid their donation, this can be done in the envelopes that are now available in the Church porch.

 

VENERABLE MARGARET SINCLAIR: The Annual Pilgrimage for the Beatification of Venerable Margaret Sinclair will take place on Sunday, 17th September at 2pm in St. Patrick’s Church, Cowgate, Edinburgh. EH1 1TQ.  All welcome

 

PEACE ONE DAY: Is the day each year when when “all countries vowed not to wage war: a worldwide ceasefire and day of non-violence.”  A celebration will take place in the Howard Centre, 5 Portland Road, Kilmarnock on Monday, 18th September at 7pm

 

MUSIC WORKSHOP: Galloway Music Network are running a workshop for anyone interested in Church music.  It will take place at Mount Carmel Church, Kilmarnock on Saturday, 23rd September from 10.30am-3pm.  A light lunch will be provided.  For more information contact Nicola 0141 886 7963.

 

EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS: Would all Eucharistic Ministers who are willing and able to help take Communion to the Sick and Housebound make themselves known to Fr. Martin.  Suitable training will be put in place.

 

LAY-LED FUNERAL LITURGIES:  The Church has made provision in its Funeral Liturgies for Lay-led Services to be conducted.  With a view to preparing for the day when this will happen in our area, Fr. Willie McFadden will lead a training course for those who are thinking of joining this ministry.  If you are also interested, please speak to Fr. Martin

 

WEDDINGS: Any couple wishing to be married in Mount Carmel or St. Matthew’s in the coming years should speak to Fr. Martin as soon as possible.
