VENERABLE MARGARET SINCLAIR: The Annual Pilgrimage for the Beatification of Venerable Margaret Sinclair will take place TODAY Sunday, 17th September at 2pm in St. Patrick’s Church, Cowgate, Edinburgh. EH1 1TQ.  All welcome

 

CATHEDRAL EVENING PRAYER: ‘Evening Prayer of the Church’ will be sung in St Margaret’s Cathedral, Ayr TODAY, 17th September at 6pm.  All are welcome.

 

PEACE ONE DAY: Is the day each year when when “all countries vowed not to wage war: a worldwide ceasefire and day of non-violence.”  A celebration will take place in the Howard Centre, 5 Portland Road, Kilmarnock on Monday, 18th September at 7pm

 

MUSIC WORKSHOP: Galloway Music Network are running a workshop for anyone interested in Church music.  It will take place at Mount Carmel Church, Kilmarnock on Saturday, 23rd September from 10.30am-3pm.  A light lunch will be provided.  For more information contact Nicola 0141 886 7963.

 

CHILDREN’S INITIATION:  There will be a Parents’ Meeting in St. Matthew’s Hall on Thursday, 5th October at 7pm.  This is for all children who will celebrate the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist in 2018 and is for all Churches served by Fr. Stephen McGrattan and Fr. Martin

 

FIRST COMMUNION 2018: Letters have gone out this week through the Catholic schools inviting parents to enrol their P4 children for First Communion and Confirmation next year.  You can enrol your child by sending Fr. ANNUAL DIOCESAN TEACHERS' MASS: Bishop William Nolan will celebrate Mass in Saint Joseph’s, Kilmarnock on  Thursday, 28th September at 7.00 pm.  All teachers from the diocese are warmly invited and welcomed. After Mass, there will be a light buffet in the hall and a chance to socialise.

 

OUR LADY OF FATIMA: This image of Our Lady of Fatima is presently in Scotland and will be in St. Joseph’s, Kilmarnock from 27th – 30th September.  St. Matthew’s Marian Group will lead the Rosary on Friday, 29th September at 7pm. All welcome.

SCOTS COLLEGE MAGAZINE:  These are available at the back of Church.  Please take a copy and spread the word about what is happening in our National Seminary.

 

ST. MICHAEL’S KILMARNOCK: An excellent DVD has been produced to commemorate the closing of this Parish at the cost of £5.  If anyone wishes a copy, please speak to Fr. Martin

 

EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS: Would all Eucharistic Ministers who are willing and able to help take Communion to the Sick and Housebound make themselves known to Fr. Martin.  Suitable training will be put in place.

 

LAY-LED FUNERAL LITURGIES:  The Church has made provision in its Funeral Liturgies for Lay-led Services to be conducted.  With a view to preparing for the day when this will happen in our area, Fr. Willie McFadden will lead a training course for those who are thinking of joining this ministry.  If you are also interested, please speak to Fr. Martin

 

WEDDINGS: Any couple wishing to be married in Mount Carmel or St. Matthew’s in the coming years should speak to Fr. Martin as soon as possible.
