ANNUAL CRIB APPEAL:  Many thanks to all who contributed in the wee boxes at the Crib: £121.12 was collected at St. Matthew’s.

 

ST. MATTHEW’S CHURCH TOILETS: Work IS UNDERWAY to renovate the toilet block.  Stage 1 will be the renovation of the Gents toilets and then Stage 2 will be the renovation of the Ladies toilets.  If your toilet block is not in use, please use the toilets at the front of the Church.

 

WEEK OF PRAYER FOR CHRISTIAN UNITY: St. Matthew’s will host the Fellowship of Kilmarnock Churches TODAY Sunday, 21st January at 4pm.  Please come along and please bring a friend.

 

FREESPACE: This faith-sharing group will meet THIS Tuesday, 23rd January at 7pm in St. Matthew’s House.  All are very welcome

 

ST. MATTHEW’S FABRIC & FINANCE: This will take place in St. Matthew’s Hall THIS Thursday, 25th January at 7pm.  All are welcome

 

INTER-FAITH GATHERING:  Following on from last year’s successful event in St. Matthew’s, there will be a Gathering of Faiths in St. Kentigern’s Church, New farm Loch at 2pm NEXT Sunday, 28th January where guest speakers will lead a Faith discussion ….one of the guest speakers this year is our own Bishop Nolan.

 

SPECIAL COLLECTION:  There will be a collection for the Training of Students in Seminaries at Masses on 27th/28th January.  Please be generous.

 

P3 RECONCILIATION MEETING: All parents (from local Parishes) who have enrolled their children for the Sacrament of Reconciliation this year are invited to a Parents’ Meeting in St. Matthew’s Church on Tuesday, 30th January at 7pm.

HCPT CHARITY NIGHT: With apologies from Fr. Martin but all tickets are gone now.  If anyone wishes to donate to HCPT through the Raffle, raffle tickets will be sold next weekend.

 

DIOCESAN WORLD DAY OF THE SICK: A Mass will be held on Sunday 11th of February at 4pm in St Margaret's Cathedral, Ayr.  The Hospitalite looks forward to welcoming you, if you wish to be anointed please make yourself known to a member of the Hospitalite team on the day.  Mass will be followed by tea in the hall and the Hospitalite AGM.  

 

JOINT PASTORAL COUNCIL: The Joint Pastoral Council for St. Sophia’s, Mount Carmel and St. Matthew’s will now take place on Tuesday, 13th February at 7pm in Mount Carmel Church.  Please note the change of date.

 

LONDON MARATHON: Just to prove his insanity, Fr. Martin has signed up for the London Marathon and will run (slowly) on April 22nd 2018.  He will be running for two charities: MS (his Mum has had MS since the 70s); and the Ecuador Trust.  More details of sponsorship later – just wipe his brow if you see him out training!
CONFIRMATION 2018:  The date for the Sacrament of Confirmation for our Deanery has been set.  Bishop Nolan will administer the sacrament in Mount Carmel Church on Thursday, 8th February 2018 at 7pm.

 

WEDDINGS: Any couple wishing to be married in ST. SOPHIA’S, Mount Carmel or St. Matthew’s in the coming years should speak to Fr. Martin as soon as possible.
