BISHOP NOLAN: We WELCOME Bishop William Nolan to our Parishes this weekend for a Pastoral Visit.

 

MASS OF CHRISM: This will take place at St. Margaret’s Cathedral, Ayr THIS Tuesday, 27th March at 7.30pm.

 

EASTER TRIDUUM: After some initial discussion at the recent Joint Pastoral Council, Fr. Martin has set the following arrangements for the Easter Triduum: Mass of the Lord’s Supper – 29th March at 7pm in Our Lady of Mount Carmel; Commemoration of the Lord’s Passion – 30th March at 3pm in St. Matthew’s; Easter Vigil – 31st March at 8pm in St. Sophia’s; Easter Sunday Masses – 1st April at 9.30am in St. Matthew’s and at 11am in Our Lady of Mount Carmel.

 

GOOD FRIDAY VIGIL: This ecumenical Prayer Service of readings and meditations (in 20 min slots) will take place at the New Laigh Kirk, Kilmarnock on 30th March from Noon till 3pm.  Fr. Martin will lead the first slot.

 

GOOD FRIDAY COLLECTION: There will be a Special Collection at the Good Friday 3pm Service in St. Matthew’s. As Catholics commemorate Jesus' Passion on Good Friday, the Vatican is asking them to support the Church in the Holy Land with their prayers and financial contributions.

 

EASTER BREAKFAST:  This ecumenical prayer service (very short) will take place at the Kay Park memorial (beside the Burns Statue) at 7am on April 1st (this is NOT an April Fools).  It will be led by St Kentigern’s Church and will be followed by a Breakfast at their Church.  ALL PEOPLE ARE WELCOME!!

 

MUSIC WORKSHOP: For anyone interested in Church Music.  This will take place at Mount Carmel, Kilmarnock on Saturday, 21st April (10.30am-3pm).  Hymns on the theme of ‘a pilgrimage round the Church’ plus Marian hymns will be practised.  A light lunch will be provided.  For more information – call Nicola 0141 886 7963

 

LONDON MARATHON: Fr. Martin Chambers will run the London Marathon for two charities: MS SOCIETY – his Mum has had MS for over 40 years; ECUADOR TRUST – where he worked for 5 years. SCIAF WEE BOX: Please hand in your WEE BOX this week at one of the Church Services.

 

LOURDES PETITIONS: Fr. Martin will travel to Lourdes during Easter week with the HCPT children’s pilgrimage.  If anyone wishes him to place Prayer Petitions at the Grotto, please hand them to him before Easter Sunday.

 

WEDDINGS: Any couple wishing to be married in ST. SOPHIA’S, Mount Carmel or St. Matthew’s in the coming years should speak to Fr. Martin as soon as possible.
