FIRST COMMUNIONS: Please pray for the children who will be celebrating First Communions in the next weeks: in St. Sophia’s on Saturday, 12th May at Noon; in Mount Carmel on Sunday, 13th May at 11am; and in St. Matthew’s at the 9.30am Mass on 13th/20th/27th May (at pre-arranged dates).

 

SOLEMNITY OF THE ASCENSION: Will take place on Thursday, 10th May.  Fr. Martin will celebrate 3 Masses for the Feast: 9.30am at St. Matthew’s; 11am at Mount Carmel; and 1.45pm in St. Sophia’s School.  Fr. Stephen will celebrate the following Masses: 10am at St. Paul’s, Hurlford; 12.30pm at St. Joseph’s; 7pm at St. Joseph’s.

 

JOINT PASTORAL COUNCIL: All parishioners of St. Sophia’s, Mount Carmel and St. Matthew’s are invited to this meeting to share and pray together.  It will take place at St. Matthew’s on Thursday, 17th May at 7pm.

 

COMMUNICATIOSN SUNDAY: This will take place NEXT weekend (12th/13th May) when we will pray for the Church in the field of communications.  There will also be a collection to support the work of the Church in the media.

 

CHURCH OF SCOTLAND WOMEN’S GUILD: Are holding their Annual Rally to which our parishioners are invited.  It will take place in John Knox Church, Stewarton on Monday, 14th May at 7.30pm.

CALLING ALL RETUIRED HEAD TEACHERS: The Association of Catholic Head Teachers, Diocese of Galloway, are holding their annual meeting, Mass and Meal with Bishop Nolan on Tuesday 22 May 2018 in St. Joseph’s RC Church, 15 Hill Street, Kilmarnock, KA3 1HA. As this is a very special year, commemorating 100 years of the Education (Scotland) Act, we would like to extend an invitation to all retired Headteachers to join us for the full event. The day begins with tea/coffee and light lunch at 12.45pm, followed by our guest speaker, Mass is at 4pm, followed by a meal in the Park hotel Kilmarnock at 5.30pm. SCIAF 6K FAMILY FUN RUN:  This will take place on Saturday 2nd June 2018 @ Strathclyde Country Park
