23RD JULY 2017

Priest:         Christ spoke in parables that we might be able to reflect on His Kingdom and how it is reflected on our daily lives.  We pray for God’s values to be reflected in the Church, in society and in our own lives ….

1.       We pray for the Church throughout the world.  We recognise that it is made up of saints and sinners and we pray that we might patiently wait for God’s values to be seen throughout the Church and in all its brothers and sisters.

          LORD, HEAR US …

2.       In our world we continue to be plagued by images of wars and violence.  We pray for a spirit of tolerance among nations, that our world leaders might seek for a peaceful solution to the world’s problems.

          LORD, HEAR US …

3.                 The second reading today tells us that “the Spirit comes to help us in our weakness.”  We pray for all who are weary in life and for all who feel abandoned by society.  May there be a realisation that they are not alone but that God walks with them on their journey of life.

          LORD, HEAR US …

4.                 We pray for an outpouring of love and understanding in family life.  And we also pray for our young people: that they may cling to their dreams for a better world and work to fulfil them

          LORD, HEAR US …

5.                 For the repose of the souls of Stacia Nimbley of St. Matthew’s and David Hannah of Mount Carmel who have died… (Pause) … and we spend a few moments with our private prayers … (Pause) …

          LORD, HEAR US …

Priest:         Father of love, the seed of your love grows deep within our hearts.  Hear these our prayers and remind us always that Gospel values bring meaning and balance into our lives.  We ask this through Christ our Lord
