Priest:         Jesus entrusts us with the Keys of the Kingdom as we seek to build up God’s Kingdom on earth.  We pray that God’s Keys and Life will bear fruit for the world …

Reader:

1.                 For each one of us gathered here in faith: as we see Jesus entrusting the Keys of the Kingdom to Peter, giving him responsibility for building up God’s Kingdom on earth, we pray that we might hear the call of Christ in our own hearts and share the Joy of the Gospel with others.

LORD, HEAR US …

2.                 In our local Church of the Diocese of Galloway we are more aware these days of the changing nature of the Church.  May local Parishes and communities respond with open hearts to God’s call and lead their people to fulfil the Baptismal call.

LORD, HEAR US …

3.                 Our world continues to face terrorism and the threat of war.  We pray that all those who lead us in government might follow the path of Christ, the path of peace.

LORD, HEAR US …

4.                 We pray for all those who are suffering in our world through famine and war and for all those we know closer at home who are suffering through illness and poverty.  May they find hope as we respond to their need with love and charity.

LORD, HEAR US …

5.                 We pray for all who are ill at home and in hospital at this time: may they feel the healing touch of Christ … (Pause) … and for all who have died: may they rest in the peace and mercy of Christ.

LORD, HEAR US …

6.                 And now we pause to pray in silence for our own needs … Pause …

LORD, HEAR US …

Priest:         Father of love, you lead us in the way of forgiveness.  Hear these our prayers and lead us to build up the Church, our families and our own hearts in the mercy you bring to our needy world.  We ask this through Christ our Lord.
