Priest:         We feel the presence of Christ within our community of prayer and we trust in his ways as we bring our prayers to Him …

The response to LORD, IN YOUR MERCY is …HEAR OUR PRAYER

Reader:

1.                 Through our first reading today God says: “let me sing to the world a song of love for the vineyard.”  We pray for our world community that it may open itself up once more to the love that God has for the world: may we embrace the values of peace and harmony, rejecting war and violence.

LORD, IN YOUR MERCY …

2.                 We pray that the Church throughout the world may continue to be a sign of hope and fruitfulness for so many people in the world who long to hear Christ’s message.  May Pope Francis and all our Church leaders help us to see that we all have a part to play in that Mission of Christ to a modern world.

LORD, IN YOUR MERCY …

3.                 We pray for all our young people.  As we reflect on the Gospel of the Lord’s Vineyard, we pray that young people will be given the space to show off the fruits of the Lord Jesus – love and peace – in their daily lives.

LORD, IN YOUR MERCY …

4.                 Our second reading today says: “ask that the peace of God will guard your hearts and minds.”  We pray that each one of us will know more deeply GOD’S PEACE through our reflection on Christ’s words and actions.

LORD, IN YOUR MERCY …

5.                 We pray for the repose of the soul of Jim Guy of St. Matthew’s and all our relatives and friends who have died: that they may enjoy the light of Heaven.

LORD, IN YOUR MERCY …

6.                  In a moment of silence we pray for our own needs … Pause …

LORD, IN YOUR MERCY …

Priest:         Father of all kindness, hear these prayers that we make in faith and lead us to follow the path of Christ your Son, the path of service and the path of happiness.  We ask this through the same Christ our Lord
