Priest:         God invites us into his abundant Kingdom.  We pray that God’s many gifts will be shared out throughout our world as we pray for our community and for the Church.

1.                 Today’s Parable of the Wedding Feast is an invitation to engage with Gospel values.  We pray for our world community: may our world leaders work together so that all of God’s gifts can be shared with all people throughout the world.

LORD, HEAR US …

2.                 For the Church in all areas of the world: may our leaders be bold in standing up for Christian values, reminding the world that it is first and foremost WITHIN OUR FAMILIES that God will bring us deep joy and peace.

LORD, HEAR US …

3.                 We pray for ourselves: that we will accept the invitation to be part of God’s Kingdom, playing our part in bringing God’s Kingdom into our Church and into our community.

LORD, HEAR US …

4.                 The Second Reading today says “I know how to be poor and I know how to be rich.”  We pray for those in our world who ONLY know how to be poor – those without shelter and those without food.  As they seek to nourish their bodies, may they keep HOPE alive in their hearts.

LORD, HEAR US …

5.                 We pray for all who are ill at home and in hospital: may they feel God’s healing presence in their hearts … (Pause) … and we pray for the repose of the souls of all our relatives and friends who have died: may they receive the reward of their labours in Heaven.

LORD, HEAR US …

6.                  In a moment of silence we pray for our own needs … Pause …

LORD, HEAR US …

Priest:         Father of all kindness, hear these prayers and lead us to appreciate all the many gifts you have given us.  We ask this through the same Christ our Lord
