Priest:         Jesus calls each one of us to accept the Good News into our hearts and shows us the way to that Good News.  With confidence we present these our prayers …

Reader:      “Repent and Believe the Good News.”  We pray that the world will take heed of God’s call to make the world a better place by repenting of wars and violence and by embracing the path of peace.

LORD, HEAR US …

As we celebrate the Annual Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, we pray for a greater love and understanding between the Christian Churches especially within our own community.  We pray also that in our personal lives there will be no traces of bitterness and bigotry.

LORD, HEAR US …

Jesus calls to each one of us today to embrace the Good News.  May we learn to see more and more the many moments that God touches our hearts and minds with the Good News of his love.

LORD, HEAR US …

We pray for all who ill at this time – at home and in hospital: may they feel the presence of the healing God who walks with them calming the fears of their lives.

LORD, HEAR US …

We pray for the repose of the souls of CORA ANN ROONEY, ALICE OWENS and ELAINE REED whose Funerals are to take place this coming week.  We pray also for all those who have died recently… (Pause) … and we pray in silence for all our own needs … (Pause)

LORD, HEAR US …

Priest:         Father of love, you never abandon us but protect us always with your love.  Hear these our prayers and help us to respond with full hearts to your call to build up your Mission of love, joy and peace.  We ask this through the same Christ our Lord.
