GENERAL INTERCESSIONS

6th SUNDAY OF YEAR B

11th February 2018

Priest:         Jesus is full of compassion for each of us in our need.  We now make our prayers known to him confident that he hears us and leads us in love and hope …

Reader:       For each one of us: like the leper in today’s Gospel: may we cry out to God in prayer for all our needs that God might heal us and restore hope to our hearts.

LORD, HEAR US…

We pray for the children who received the sacrament of Confirmation this week and who are now preparing for First Communion: may it be a time when the children and their families draw closer to Jesus.

LORD, HEAR US …

For the sick and housebound and all who are disabled and disadvantaged: that our society might continue to draw them as valued members of our community.

LORD, HEAR US …

For all who are weighed down by the cares and troubles of life: may the Lord lead them to a place of peace and healing.  May they see in us a true example of service and love.

LORD, HEAR US …

That our local community might continue to welcome and support people, regardless of race or creed.  That we will work towards making Christ’s values and the values of the Gospel come alive for our local community.

LORD, HEAR US …

We pray for all who have died: for Vincent Duffy (of Mount Carmel) and June Johnstone (of St. Sophia’s): may they find eternal rest in Christ ….  (Pause)  …  and we spend a moment in silence bringing our personal prayers to God … (Pause) …

LORD, HEAR US …

Priest:         Hear these prayers, Lord God.  Touch us with your healing and lead us to be people of love and compassion in our daily lives.  We ask this through Christ our Lord.
