25TH March 2018

Priest:         We begin this great week of God’s love for us and we present our prayers with confidence and trust …

1.     As we make our way through Holy Week, we pray that we will see in each of the events the wonder of Jesus Christ as the Faithful Disciple of God the Father.

          LORD, HEAR US ….

2.     We continue to pray for peace in the world – that the rights of each person will be respected by the authorities.

          LORD, HEAR US ….

3.                 For this Parish Community: may we unite with one another to celebrate Holy Week as faith-filled people.  May there be an outpouring of love within our local community.

          LORD, HEAR US ….

4.                 We pray for those in our world who suffer from abject poverty, especially the fishing communities of Cambodia who feature in this year’s SCIAF campaign: may our efforts in charity bring them

much-needed aid and comfort.

          LORD, HEAR US ….

5.                 We pray for all who have died (especially Jim Watson of Mount Carmel as well as Sylvia Armstrong and Pat Cochrane of St. Matthew’s): may they all enjoy the eternal light of Christ in Heaven.

          LORD, HEAR US ….

6.                 We pray now for our own needs before the love of God … (Pause) …

          LORD, HEAR US ….

Priest:                   Father of love, we rejoice in your companionship and we

ask that you hear our prayers for the sake of Jesus our

Saviour, who suffered and died for us and who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God for ever and ever.  Amen.
