GENERAL INTERCESSIONS

6TH SUNDAY OF YEAR B

5th/6th May 2018

PRIEST:  Our readings today remind us that Jesus’ love for us never ends.  With trust in His love then, we pray now for all our needs …

READER:

In today’s Gospel, Jesus invites us into his love.  We pray that we may understand more fully how much God loves us so that we might share his love freely in our family and community.

LORD, HEAR US …

We hear in today’s reading from the Acts of the Apostles that the world was transformed by their Christian words and actions.  We pray for OUR world – that it may also be changed and renewed by Christian Gospel values of PEACE and HOPE.

LORD, HEAR US …

May is the month of CHRISTIAN AID.  We pray that, as Christians, we will always work towards an end to the world’s poverty, hunger, war and violence.  We pray that God will inspire us in all our works of charity.

LORD, HEAR US …

We pray for all pupils and students preparing for and sitting exams at this time.  May they work hard so that their dreams might become a reality.

LORD, HEAR US ….

We pray for all those who have died, especially JEANNIE BROWN and  BART PATON who have died and all our own relatives and friends, that they may receive the rewards of their labours in Heaven … (Pause) … and we spend a moment praying for our own needs … (further Pause) …

LORD, HEAR US …

PRIEST:  God our Father, hear these prayers, grant what we need and show us the path to dignity and hope.  We ask this through Christ our Lord
